Estate Records Microfilm Information
I saved many but not all of the records
and printed them to PDF files. These files are large to download and
difficult to read. There were duplicate images on the microfilm.
The above referenced Poplin Estate Records Microfilm
Box No. G.089.2196800 can be ordered directly
from the North Carolina State Archives.
Additionally, there are two more microfilmed Estate Records for Stanly
County which I have not ordered. It is unknown whether there are any
Poplin records references as there is no separate index with these reels.
The index may be included at the beginning of
each volume and microfilmed with the rest of the pages.
1. Reel C.089.50001 = Record of Estates
- Inventories and Settlements, 1841-1869
2. C.089.50038 = Settlement of
Estates, 1841-1869.
There are not any microfilm reels pre dating
1841.
The cost to duplicate each
35mm reel is either $12.00 for standard "diazo" microfilm or $18.00 for long
life silver halide microfilm. Both have equal quality images,
but the silver film lasts longer. Shipping and handling costs are
included. The microfilm records room is closed until July 9.
If you wish to order any of the above reels,
please write the Office of Archives and History, indicating the call number,
name, and size of the reel and also include a check or money order for the
appropriate amount, payable to "NC Department of Cultural Resources"; then
mail all to:
Office of Archives and History
4614 Mail Service Center
RALEIGH NC
27699-4614
Please allow about four to five weeks
for delivery.
