John Straw, a Revolutionary Patriot, was born August 22, 1756 in South Hampton, New Hampshire.  He married Mary Emerson August 17, 1780 in Concord, NH. Their marriage is documented in the pension record below.  John had at least 9 children, Sergeant, Sarah, Polly, Hannah, Samuel, Eliza, Lucy Daniel and Moses. 

John Straw enlisted in March 1977 for three years under Caption D. Livermore, third New Hampshire Regiment and served 3 years until March 20, 1780 when, his time having expired, he was discharged.
